Absolutely a valid argument you made (same thread) on the Coin Forum, but over here it is allowed and is stated as such in Collectors Universe rules. "Why Can't People Read"? -Good question.

The next quarterly meeting to discuss buying and selling coins on this, and other forums, will be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas the fourth week of September 2003. We've been offered a special Registry discount. Reserve your rooms now. As a special treat, Russ will be giving a seminar on the Slab Caddy.

    Yes.

The ball team is really coming together. We need to get in a couple of practices and we'll be ready for the Merc folks. image

You need about 60 more participants to get into the same league as the Merc Heads. We will keep running new players at you untill you are worn out and give up.

Maybe next year for the Two Centers......Huh ?

    Ken
  • Probably another 5 years before the 2 centers can run in the same league as us 10 centers...image

    Ken,

It did occur to me that you guys have a MUCH deeper bench. At my age (and physical condition) having plenty of subs would be a major consideration!

    Ken and labmom,

You obviously haven't seen the rules. In addition to the "normal" rules of the game which we have to follow, you have been given a few additional rules:

    1. Your team may not use gloves.
    2. Your team only gets 2 outs.
    3. Our team gets 4 strikes for an out.
    4. Our team gets 5 outs per inning.

Let the best team win! image

Those sound alot like the rules that have been set up for some members in the Merc group. 5 Outs.....thats a stretch....maybe 4. Man our catcher is going to have one hell of a time isn't he. image

Oh yea......offering coins here is allowed....if they are Registry Quality.....what ever that is. image

    Ken
  • DAM, even with the extra rules, us Merc folks will still whoop your collective butts. image 'Cause we're that darn good. image

BTW, slabbed coins are allowed for sale here because they can be put into a registry set. image

    I've got an idea...

Let's skip the game and go out for pizza and beer and discuss what coins can be offered for sale her on the forum. image

Since you Merc folks have 5 times more buying power than us Two Cent folks, how about picking up the tab. We'll leave the tip. image

Did I spell the two W words correctly ?

I have No Registry coins or others to sell right now so I will not post them here today.

  • The pizza and beer will only cost 12 cents, but you can only use 2 coins to pay with.

Good point Russ... Planchet envy. image

It's not the size of the planchet that's important, it's the quality of the strike! image
