Hi David,

How many dealers are there that you feel are qualified to grade for PCGS? And what about collectors?

    For grading classic era (1792-1964) coins there are probably 50 to 100 dealers that could cut it in the PCGS grading room. I do not know any collectors who possess the broad based grading skills of a PCGS grader, though there are some collectors that have good eyes and an excellent understanding of grading within their specialty. Dealers are buying and selling coins every day for decades and their experience levels are just way higher than collectors.
