How to post a LINK.....easy......

topstuftopstuf Posts: 14,803 ✭✭✭✭✭
This is for those using Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Look at the thingie you want to post. Example: An eBay item.

Up in the whitie band that says "Address" you will see a bunch of stuff.

Using the LEFT button on your mouse, CLICK on it.

It will turn blue. IF it didn't, try it again. Do it until it is all covered with BLUE.

Then.......without moving your mousie.....keep mousie on BLUEY part.....click the RIGHT button.

AND.....a boxy thing will come up.

In the boxy thing is the word "Copy"

Move your mousie to the word "Copy" and it will turn BLUE.

While it is all BLUE, click on it with your LEFT mousie button.

NOW......come back to the forum..... LOG IN.....

When you go to post, there is a box that says "http" and has a pitcher of a chain like a chain cent.

Click it with your LEFT button.

Up will pop a magical thingie that says "URL for the link" and it has "http" in blue.

Hit the BACKSPACE button on your KEYBOARD with your FINGER....

The blue will disappear and then....

Put your mousie where the blue WAS and click the RIGHT mousie button.

Click the word "Paste" with your LEFT mousie button.

A buncha stuff will show up.

Click "OK" with your LEFT mousie button.

Whoops..........ANOTHER.......box will pop up and it will say "Text for the link"

Type in SOMETHING. (Well, don't type in the word, "SOMETHING" unless you want to.) "Link" will work.

Click "OK" and you are DONE.

It should take 3 seconds. 2 if you are Wyatt Earp, 1 if you are Jerry Miculek

then nobody else can make you look silly by putting "Linkified" in the next post.

If you copy this post and SAVE it, you can do it again and we will live happily ever after with no more posts full of lots of stuff that don't work.

THE END

    Hey...you said easy.
That humanity at large will ever be able to dispense with artificial paradises seems unlikely. Most men and women lead lives at the worst so painful, and at the best so monotonous, poor, and limited, that the urge to escape, the longing to transcend themselves, if only for a few moments, is and always has been one of the principal appetites of the soul.
