Looks OK to me. I guess you can tweak the lighting a little, and maybe the focus or resolution, but that one gets the point across.

I have to get a camera. I've been a scanner man for too long, I reckon.

Each camera is a little different - but you might try using 2 GE Reveal lights and one Soft-white. It provides a wide spectrum that picks up both luster, AND toning. image

Also - an ever-so-slight angle on toners seems to help. Nice job on the Morgan! image

Jacob- look me up sometime, if you're in town. The Antique Mall is open on Sundays, yes. While I'm not there most of the time (the Antique Mall staff does the selling for me), I am off work most Sundays, and could meet you there. I'm way behind on stocking up my booth- really need to get some new inventory in there!

Dunno how I'd grade that Morgan. 64?

Good set of pics. Try a little more light. Like 3 60 watt incandescent bulbs (remembering to set the white balance to incandescent).

Another thing is (in photoshop) to adjust the levels and run the unsharp mask filter at 30%. It corrects for the slight blur of shooting through plastic.

That is how the attached pictures were done.
