1931 D over S Cent

Hi i'm new here and I think I found a 1931 D Over S Cent.Ok i tried to scan it but i can't zoom it in good enough and I tried taking a picture of it but it ends up too dark if we get too close to it.I will try to describe it the best I can though:It looks like a normal cent exept for the mint mark.On the upper left corner of the D there is another part of metal.When turned upside down you can see the extra metal better and it looks like it is coming straight out of the upper corner of the D.I will try to get hold of a different camera and try to get a good picture of it. The RPM Book of Lincoln Cents by James Wiles lists a 1931 D/D/D (RPM#1) but does not list a 1931 D/S.

may be whats it list for?

oh a tripled d i just have a cent that just has one piece of extra metal i cant find anything on it that indicates a tripled d but maybe a double d or d over s?

I have looked through my books by Wexler and can't find any reference to OMM 1931 D/S.I suggest you check coppercoins web site.If one is known,he probably has a picture of it.

From your description and not being able to see it, it sounds like it could be a die chip, or something similar.
