Wow, onlyroosies made a 55S MS67FB- 1 of a kind!

Congratulations onlyroosies!

I see you have a added a 1955S PCGS MS67FB Rosy. Pop-1 in MS67 and pop-1 in FB......currently the ONLY 55S graded in FB. Super achievement......only leaves just a couple of dates w/o MS67FB's - 1957P and 1958P???? Anyone car to bet how long it takes so thatthese two dates get MS67FB pop's?image

    Good job OnlyRoosies.

By the way, I just graded yesterday the only PCGS-MS69FB Roosie to ever make it into the holder. Now, there is a grade that separates the "men from the boys" image

Lotsa of WOWs necessary. Thanks Craig for the post. Congrats Nick!
And Mitch...amazing...I never thought the description of the Roosies in the Registry would ring true, but...
    Roosie Reg. Description
    Text:

<< <i>This set is low on the difficulty scale but high on the fun scale. There are quite a few coins to locate and all are reasonably priced, at least for now. Sets that are beautifully toned, sets that are fully brilliant and sets that are all exactly the same grade are some of the ways this series is collected. As more and more collectors try to build the #1 set in the world the prices for the elusive MS67, MS68 and MS69 pieces will probably continue to escalate. >>

Thanks Craig for the post. I've been holding onto this coin for over a year now. I crossed it from an NGC MS67* holder. I
sent it to NGC for designation review and NGC gave it the FT. Also the only 55S FT listed on the NGC pop report. It was
a solid cross, Blast White and similar to the 54P 67FB you made and sold to me.

Mitch, Congrats on making the 2002P MS69FB Roosie.

I don't know blue from purple, but I'd check those not-so-scarce '56 mint sets. There seems to be a prevelent "gun metal blue", I'd call it, that year, as you probably know. Is that blue or purple to you guys? image
  • rainbowroosierainbowroosie Posts: 4,874 ✭✭✭✭
    Craig,
If you want purple, I'll just bake it five minutes longer!!!! Fooling!!!!image

Bill, amazing what you can do with an easy bake oven, isn't it......(!). Seriously, I'm still Blue and still looking but purple works too....just crank up the oven. :-)

These dimes are HOT! I am blown away at the awesome dimes being made here. Now as for color... Is this dime Blue or purple or both?

    1963-P Obv.

    1963-P Rev

This sure looked to be full band. It is in PCGS's hot little hands for about 10 days now. Hope to get a 67FB, Time will tell. I think it's blue... image
The picture does not even come close to the real colors image

edited to update pictures imageit's back from PCGS

    rainbowroosie,

To my knowledge it has never been. I bought it as a raw coin. It will be in a PCGS holder within the next week or two.

Ken, Did that 63 come from Allen Swimmer. It looks like one of his dimes. I had a couple from him that looked similar
and I did real well with them.

That is a great combo of blue and purple, I'd say, cointime. The Blue is a bit bluer than "gun metal" that I like so much, and the purple is a bit darker.
Nevertheless, it is a beautiful coin, and I like the blues and the purples. These dimes, colorful & high grade are the holy grail. image

Ken, Your 63P looks alot like my 55D. I think we each got them from the same seller. Here's what mine looks
like now. Goodluck with yours and let me know how it turns out.

  • Ken- that 63 looks awfully familiar to me! If got $475 for a similar 1963 ms67 nfb in Teletrades last rainbow sale! Hoping you get the grade yer looking for.

    Nick,

That '55 is a coin I could look at till my eyes glaze over image I too hope it turns out good. Thanks!

    Greg,

It should look familiar to you, but it was not from teletrade. Those are your pictures from the ebay auction I won from you. Thanks again image

Just called PCGS to get an update and it is just leaving sealing image It won't be long, I just can't wait.

  • The only pop 1/0 I've made is a 1961 MS67FB and it's blast white. image

Actually Bill, the 1961-P NGC MS67 that I got from you is now a MS67FT coin.......and as you recall, it has a nice crescent of red/orange/gold and blue along the rim.......now, just gotta get it crossed to PCGS as a MS67FB......obviously the Band part isn't an issue. As I recall you telling me, it was a 50/50 shot at a cross, but as a pop-1 coin (pop-2 if it xcrosses), its certainly worth trying a few times !!!!!! Incidentially, my current 1961-P PCGS MS67 is the ONLY white coin in my set and I'm dying to get a toned coin in there!

Ken, I remember that coin too on ebay ....I was sorely tempted to bid but as I had just received some coin from aswimmer, I was a bit gunshy to receive more suspect coins and I steered away........sounds like shortly we should all find out just how well you did. As a collector of Blue toned Rosy's, it's the look I like. image

  • Ken--I thought so!

Craig--You should know I don't put any crap in my ebay auctions! Shame on you! Yes I WAS surprised that you did not bid on Kens 1963, as it would have fit in nicely with your blue meanies. IF it 67's that is.
That was one helluva group of wild toned coins that I fell into. I only submitted 8 of those dimes to PCGS, expecting only one to grade ms 67, but I knew I could get decent $$ for them even in 66 holders due to the eye-appeal. I was quite surprised when 4 of the 8 came back 67! I guess the graders really dug the colors.

btw-- I have submitted another group of the same bunch to PCGS this week.

So does anyone know who ended up with the 1955, 1956, 1963 & 1964 Roosies from the Teletrade Rainbow auction??

Hi. The results are in.... #28 in the pop MS67 no bands. image I'm still happy and it's a beautiful coin. I'm gonna take a real close look at the bands again when it gets back.

    Happy hunting
    Ken
  • Fabulous!

Thats a rare coin, even w/o the FB designation.
