I'm looking for a 1700's Large Cent.

Your thoughts on the attached.

    The scan is a bit dark, but it looks like a real nice coin from what I can see. VG? I can't tell if there is any porosity, if not, that's a keeper I'd say. mdwoods

    I could be completely off-base here, but somehow that image looks vaguely like other coins I have seen that are copies with the word copy effaced that have shown up on Ebay from time to time.

    Such coins have been posted on other sites from time to time - if I can find one I'll post it.

    Looks like S71 to me. L touches cap, RT close to hair, rt. base serif of T just beyond forelock, 79 close at top, 4 high, double leafs under O, A and btwn CA, 1 in numerator touches bar. Need a better & larger photo to be sure. Grades Photograde G4.
