Numbers on PCGS slab, what do they mean?

Can someone tell what the numbers just prior to the verification or serial number mean?

Example: in the picture below you see the number 9846.69 I know that the .69 is the grade, but what does the 9846 mean?

That's the PCGS coin number. 9846 means a 1991 Silver Eagle (I am guessing 9847 is a 1992, etc....) You get the idea.

The 9846 is a coin numbering system that PCGS uses.
If you are a Collectors Club member, a Coin Numbering Book is sent to you for your reference will filling out submission forms. You can also look up PCGS coin numbers on the website here.
