NHL 500 goal scorers set?

I was thinking about registering a 500 goal scorers hockey set.....anyone else interested in doing this set? Here is the link of the players.. http://www.infoplease.com/ipsa/A0758953.html .Seems like a relatively easy and inexpensive (in comparison to the hockey top 50 rookie cards) set to do.

I think these types of sets are great to have on the registry, and I would try to complete that set.

Sets like the 'HOF Players' and 'Top 50 Rookies' let collectors like myself participate in the set registry without having
    to persue one particular year.

I have some interest in doing a set like that....just make sure when you submit the idea...that you include the guys (like Brett Hull) who got #500 in the 02/03 season.

    John,

Unless I'm mistaken, I believe Hull got his 500th sometime during the 96 or 97 season.
I think the last guy to reach 500 was Brendan Shanahan last season.

Brett Hull got 500 in Decmeber of 1996. He scored 700 this past season.

    John,

    I stand corrected.

Just checked nhl.com and found that both Sakic and Nieuwendyk hit 500 this past season.

The set is now up on the registry, in case anyone is interested.

That Sakic Topps rookie, like any '89 Topps card, is about impossible to get in a 9. A couple of come up on ebay in the last few years but the seller wanted $150+ to start. I'd wager that '89 Topps is as condition sensitive as any '80s OPC set. The only other 9 I've seen is a Leetch rookie. No Gretzkys, no Yzermans, no Lemieuxs- and that's if those three even have a 9.
  • there was a nice 1989 psa 9 topps hull on ebay awhile back that sold for around 20 bucks.....im still kicking myself for not getting it

    Hey Guys-

Just to let you know..that none of the Topps cards are listed...only the OPC versions of the 70's and 80's cards. I am interested in starting the set...but could not find any for sale on ebay in PSA 8/9.

Hopefully after the grading special runs it course...more hockey will hit the market.

Yep, I remember that Hull too. I had put a couple of bids (and I think I was the high bidder) on it but I wasn't home when it ended. Needless to say, I lost it.
