"Scam warning - if you entered dragonoffire's coin vault, your Ebay account might be in jeopard

If anyone linked to Dragon of Fires "coin vault" link off of this thread scamlinkand entered in your username and password, change it right away thru ebay safe harbor.

He was trying to build credibility by stealing Ron's images and then have you enter in his coinvault to snag your ebay account with a sniffer.

What a bast*rd!!

    If anyone linked to the coinvault you still need to change it (your ebay password). I am almost sure that is what he was trying.

    Someone should notify the other boards as well (NGC, etc.)

    I knew something seemed fishy about that toad from the huge number of posts he was throwing down......many of them on the stupid side. Too bad he wasn't found out earlier. That newbie was just a little too eager to be petted.

    I'm mainly just a lurker here.I read the forum when I'm in town,but I noticed this guy too.I followed his link just to see what was up,and immediatly closed it when I saw the password request.I hope not too many folks got caught!

    Anyone that throws up a link for name and password should be wise to see the red flag!
    I just went back to what I was doing and didn't pay any attention to his login site at all.

    I saw his sig but didn't click on it. I wish I had, though, so I could have given a warning earlier. I do all the security stuff for our web sites at work and for the code so I would have recognized it instantly for what it was. In any case, he did seem odd. Now that this has happened, I think everyone here needs to be a little more careful about what they click on. You know he (or someone like him) will be back. Especially if they captured any user ids and passwords.

    You would have had to enter your own username/password for it to be stolen. Just clicking on the link that took you to a login screen won't hurt.

    New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

    dragon was right on this one. He slammed dragonoffire immediately and called him the scam that he is. Did anyone else notice that his posts were littered with incomprehensible psycho-babble?

    I hope the real dragon hasnt left us. I thought he was rather considerate giving the fraud the benefit of the doubt of being a fellow contributing collector/dealer with a handle close to his. But may have been too much as he later posted something close to a good bye. I am new to the forum experience but speaking for myself this flaming and fraud has a way of wasting someone time with all the excess emotion.image
