I think I have a DCAM 1964 Kennedy. GRADES ARE IN!!!!

I have a 1964 proof set that has awesome cam possibilities on all the coins. Here is the Kennedy. My question is do you think it is DCAM? Lots of frost on both sides, no breaks, and great mirrors I think. Any junk you see on the coins is on the outside holder and not the coin. The only problem is on the reverse. There is a spot on the T in STATES. Will that effect the grade? Should I send it in to get removed? Thanks for any help.

SCORE!
The coin does look beautiful. From those images I would say DCAM. If the coin is otherwise perfect I might worry about the spot. If it looks like a 67 DCAM I don't think the spot would make any difference.
That appears to be a milk spot and, while NCS cannot completely remove it, they can substantially reduce it - likely enough to bump the grade a point or two.
IF THERE ARE NO HAIRLINES, and NCS works the coin, I think you're looking at a 68DCAM.
Nice score!

it's always nice to hear when a fellow collector finds a nice coin at a great price and even posts pics for us. This kind of post is what the coin forum is about wether you collect kennedy halves or bust gold makes no difference.
Lori, did you say the rest of your proof set had dcam possibilities ? If so, could we see some pics of the other pieces in the set ?
Oh, and congratulations on a nice win. Les
DCAM fer sure!

Did you check it VERY carefully for hairlining? Particularly in the obverse fields? Not trying to put a damper on things, just speaking from experience. I hope you get a major hit!

Hairlines are very thin little grooves that appear across the surfaces of the coin. They are sometimes very difficult to detect. Before I got good at detecting them, I had a lot of grading disappointments at PCGS. They HATE hairlines and will downgrade the coin far more for those than they would for that spot on yours.
Here is a very obvious example of hairlines:
But, even with that many, if you hold that coin at the correct angle, they nearly disappear.
Here is a not so obvious example:
If you look very, very closely you'll see hairlining in the left obverse field. That kept the coin at the grade of 65 at PCGS.

This coin graded 65? Man, they are tough!

ER,
PCGS HATES hairlines. Here's the coin's twin brother:
That one graded 68. It has no hairlines. The two are off the same die pair, so they were born at the same time. Apparently, the first one suffered some trauma while exiting the birth canal.
