Mercury set guys, new set being built....NEWP picture added

I will be rebuilding my set that I sold off earlier this year. I am going to do something a little different this time. The set will require the coins to fall into one of three categories:

Toned (any grade)
Pedigreed (any grade)
Blast white pop top NO bands

I have already started the set with some nice toned coins (will be adding the photos soon) and a few pedigrees. I have 2 Benson coins with only one listed and I have a NGC Eliasberg Mercury that I will have PCGS cross with the pedigree at Chicago.

I might not get into the top 10 with this set but I will be on the top twenty before the end of the year.

If any of you guys have some coins that will fit the above categories and want to sell please PM me (Fairlane, you reading this? image)

here is a NEWP for the set

JB are you trying to pry some of my Toned Mercs from me ? image Actually I just sold a 31S on Ebay over the week end and it would have fit in nicely in your new adventure. You probably did not see it as the thing went in about a hour. I guess I priced it too low. That was the first Toned coin I have let go in some time.

Good Luck and this looks like a Fun way to build a set. image

Did you see the pop top 1938-D that didnt sell in the Hertiage auction last week. They only want 1800 plus 15% percent for an MS-68 pop 1/0 coin. That seemed a bit high to me. Also, Heritage has had a 1923-P MS67 pop 1/0 for sale for a while. I think you can buy that one for about $950 +/- a couple of dollars. Good luck with rejoining the Merc collectors!

    JB,

your goal is cool - if you can shoot for being in the top 20 within the end of the year - that's a nice challenge - it'll be nice watching you clamor all over us. I also started only a short 6 mos ago - and am glad I'm in the top 20 - that'll be fine for me - as moving up will be a tough climb indeed.

    Good luck!

I jumped to #11 in about 3-4 months last year so this one should not be much of a problem.......I hope
