Bought some Cents at LB

I bought a large cent and 2 half cents at Long Beach. I left them with PCGS and will see what grades come back. I'm hoping for MS 63-65 on all of them.
I saw one tiny flaw on one. I mentioned that it looked like the cent had a small hit. The dealer pointed out there were actually 3 and they were planchet flaws. I learned you could tell the difference because in the case of a hit there would be some metal pushed but the flake just leaves a clean (tiny) hole.
It sure was fun to examine a dozen or more coin of each type in a similiar price range. I was attracted to coins with a metalic sheen. I doubt I will be able to capture that look in a photo but will try in a few months when my economy submission comes back. Anyway I picked three coins that have a similar look.

I don't know much about varieties but did learn to count stars. I bought a 1828 half cent with 13 stars. Also an 1855 half cent. Last but not least I got an 1850 Large Cent. They were brown and had some luster. All seemed to have decent strikes.
One looked flat over about 1/3 of the denticles on the obverse and I was told most all from that date were struck like that. I forget which one but think it must be the '28.
