Are there any dealers that specialize in 3 Cent Pieces?

Just for future reference for whenever I get around to putting this series together. I get a feeling a nice 1851-O will be hard to find.

I think Scarsdale coins does... at least he's been looking for a while for a certain one.

  • I don't think it would be fair to say that Warren Mills (Rare Coins of New Hampshire) specializes in them, but he's sure helped me build a nice collection. The early years are hard in proofs (only one Type 1 proof known); the early years of Type 2 are also bears in proof. Then the business strikes in the later years are bears too.

I've also heard good things about Legend, but I don't know those people from first hand experience.

I also don't think you'll find the 51-0 hard to nail down.

    Good luck!

    Just having fun!
