POLL: D for Disappointing

Purchased the 2003 clad Quarter Proofs today and finally get to see all of this years coins first hand. Quality was first rate with no dings, smudges or fingerprints. Design-wise it's another matter. Maine was the best of the bunch; Illinois the worst. Is Arkansas commemorating the visit of a UFO? Missouri the first raft-thru McDonalds? Alabama is just blah.

Which is your favorite for 2003? Take the poll.

PS- I am from Ohio so I know about an ugly design.

I really like Maine's design. I do think that the braille on the Alabama quarter is kind of neat, though.

From the Susanne Sommers "Big-ole honker of a gemstone" collection. The wildlife aspects of the design are great. It's the hovering Mother Ship I don't like.

Tassa - the Braille is well defined but so small it's nearly invisible.

Thanks for showing me that Arkansas quarter. That thing at top of the Arkansas reminded me to go out and pick up clams and mussels for dinner onight. That is a clam isn't it? A funny shaped one at that?

My Favorite is definately Maine, I think it is the best design so far. The design truely caputers the State. Simple elegant design, with no hovering potato.
