Finest or Inspirations?

Well to me, the top 2 NBA products this year, haven't even come out yet. I think they will be Finest, and Inspirations. So here is my question. I'm going to make my first set EVER, and I was woundering what set you guy's would rather have. The Topps Finest set, which includes all base, and rc autographs, AND the draft redemption set. Or the Inspirations set which includes base, and auto/dual auto/rc-star autos, and draft redemption rookies?

Heres a few pics of the products, let me know what you would do. As of right now, I'm leaning towards Inspirations.

Finest flier.

Inspirations flier.

  • Inspirations!
  • well each product has their advantages..

inspirations is a sweet set cuz its RC/current players on one card and it could be dual gu'd or dual auto'd rc's...the draft redemptions are hard to put a set together of though...seeing as how they go thru the first 40 i believe. but to put the whole set together would be sweet...

finest i believe will be better as far as value...it will book better for the set because it is the most anticipated set to come out and it has great tradition with collectors...i must warn you though...all the hype may kill the value in the future (like topps chrome dropping a year later in almost ever case) the draft redemptions are easier to put together cuz there are only 10 but harder if your gonna try to put it together by busting boxe only. (seeded 1 per master box)

either set will be nice...but i believe that insirations my hold the advantage due to the superstar/RC cards that did soo well last year...with lebron being a UD prodigy now...more ppl will collect UD and his UD cards will hold a slight advantage in the market...Dont count finest out...its a great re-release for topps but topps products like that have a tendency to be over hyped and then fall quickly (most of 01-02 topps chrome rc's have fell over 50%)

go for the set you want more...both are challenging and have their advantages...for a quicker set..finest has the advantage (not as many redemptions) but for a sweet accomplishment go with inspirations

  • The thing is though, in Topps, the regular redemption cards wont be numbered, the only ones that people will pay bigger money for are the refractors, and gold refractors. So to me, the better redemption set will be the Inspirations one. Each redemption card is numbered, and instead of getting one unnumbered redemption card per box like in Finest, you'll get three numbered redemption cards per box.

I might hust go for the refractor set numbered to 250 from Finest. This includes the redemptions numbered to 250 too as well as the rc autos. Hopefully I'll get a box and pull the Ming, Stoudemire, and James refractors numbered to 250 in one box. LOL, HIGHLY DOUBTFULL.
  • The big question is, like in the case of Finest, will these redemptions be accepted as rookie card, and if you get Ming, Stoudemire in the packs, etc, are they rookie cards. In 2000 Leaf had draft pick redemptions the anticipation was great but once they came out they were dissapointing, and never held much value. With the release date on draft day, I don't even feel the Ming etc, should be rookie cards, so its going to be a strong product, but long range value is in question. There will be much better LeBron rookies, and there already is much better Ming rookies.
