forward it to the spoof desk at E-Bay. They will reply within a fairly short time and let you know if it is genuine, which it almost certainly is not!. Unlike fraudulent seller complaints, they hop on this kind of stuff pretty quickly.

That URL does actually take you to an ebay page. An input error page, apparently after a form that needs to be filled out. The input error due to missing info.

That's probably not the actual URL, though. It's more likely the hyperlink that appeared in his eMail, and the underlying URL is different.

    Mike,

Do you use eMail that is html enabled? If so, check the coding and see where the link really goes.

It is a scam. Ebay tells you over and over that they will NEVER ask you for your password of confidential information to be entered into an email link. In the rare cases where they do need info or suggest that you change your password or anything like that they always just tell you to go to the ebay website to do it. They do NOT provide a link to take you there. That way when you enter ebay by the way you normally would or by typing the website address into your browser you know that you are going to the proper place and you are not being redirected to a false site.

No legitimate site is going to send you an email asking for confidential information to be entered into the e-mail, as a response to the e-mail or in a form linked to by the email.

hmm not so sure, that is definately an address on ebay's site (generally they will try and send you off to another site using a confusing url if its a scam).

They use that ebay link as the text of the link to make it look more legitimate. All of these are scams.

Also, the "unconvenience" instead of "inconvenience"
