PSA 1 w/ qualifier

I just saw a PSA 1 on ebay with a qualifier. What would that count in the registary since there is a two point reduction of qualifiers? A negative one (-1)??

I would think a PSA 1 is a PSA 1 - why the need for a qualifier?? Does the qualifier mean its less poor than poor???

Seems silly to me....

It seems like overkill. If the owner had scratched the mark off by removing surface paper, then it would have been an "unqualified" PSA 1. That seems pretty silly to me that damaging a card can upgrade it (outside of a PRO holder, of course).
  • Jerster,

I have never seen this before... But if the defect is bad enough I could understand one of the following qualifiers -

    1.) MK - Marked Card

    2.) MC - Miscut

    3.) PD -Print Defect

But seeing it is a PSA 1 the only grade I would think would have any significan is MK .... Which could have writting on it Like if some kid had written his name on thefront or back of this card I could see an MK designation

I don't get it either. You'd think that at the top and the bottom of the scale, you'd find the limits. What's next? A PSA10 OC?

  • Why did that player spell his name "Billie?" That seems more odd than the PSA 1 (MK)

Hopefully in the GPA calculation there's a check to see if the value is less than 1. Otherwise, deleting the card from the set would actually improve the rating. I can't see a situation where it's better to not have a card than to have it, no matter what condition it's in.
