Which title would you rather have and why?

Which registry set would you rather have the number one spot in and why?

Lincoln memorials 1959 - date, or;
Lincoln memorials 1959 - date with varieties.

As this is the only true Lincoln set with varieties that seems to count (IMHO) I for one would want the with varieties title.

    It depends on your collecting preferences. Some collectors just plain don't like varieties.

    Since I do, I would take the With Varieties set. image

    Isn't this like asking the question:

    Would you rather have $11 or $12?

    ...or more like asking:

    Would you rather have $11 or $12,000?

    I have a real post to this thread bottled up just waiting until I have the time to put together a well thought out response; but just had to take the time to make a quick comment:

    SOG...the difference isn't at least $27K (at least not from your example)...check out the reverse on a 55DDO. The real difference is (basically) the least you can pay for a 1969-S DD & 1970-S DD. That's just for any example of those two...if you want a full red set you can just about forget about it. There are only two MS RED 69-S Double Dies certified...

    Varieties, of course. Some of them are rare in an absolute sense. The non-varieties are little more than pocket change in the grades below MS65/66.

    but the after auction price is LESS than the high bid during the auction. So if they had a reserve, they are now selling it less than that reserve now.
