1966/1967 Cameo SMS Lincolns price disparity

Hi everyone,

The PCGS price guide lists the value for the 1967 SMS Lincoln in 66 and 67 Cameo as almost double that of the 1966 yet the population of the 1966 in Cameo is much lower (8 coins versus 17). DHRC has a 1967 in 67 Cam for $3750 which is a pop 5 coin, none higher. PCGS trends this coin at $4000. 1966 has only 4 coins at 67 Cam, none higher yet this coin trends at $1850. Any idea why there is this big of a price disparity? Are these prices even realistic? Thanks.

The CU price guides leave much to be desired. Good catch.

The true value of the 1966 Lincoln SMS in Cameo and the 1967 Lincoln SMS in Cameo are what a willing buyer and willing seller agree upon. My guess is that neither of them would agree upon a price of over $1,000 for either the 1966 or the 1967 unless the coin was in a PCGS holder. That tells me alot about the true value of these coins. JMHO. Steveimage

There's a 66 in 67 Cam coming up on Teletrade on 6/2. I have a PCGS 65 in 65 Cam & an NGC 67 in 66 Cameo if you are interested - think the PCGS a grade lower is worth more?
