... and I registered a type set of nickels while there!
Does anyone have any advice? Should I shower?
How long does it take them to process registry additions? It looks interesting; a guy with a 60% complete set leads slugs like Keith and I who have 100% complete sets.

I find it very hard to figure out what coins to use. I put in an early PR 67 Jeff (1938) and only recieved a few points. I switched to a PR 70 and got 200. I left it at that. Now I checked that Krispy set and that one has a 1994 SMS MS 69 FS for 1200 points! Well I have that coin too so will change that for an additional one thousand points. The SMS coins is the cheapest of the three and has the most points!
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...

I really, really like those denomination type sets.

TDN, here is a case in a type set where I take out a 70 DCAM and replace it with a 69 FS and gain 1,000 points.
Either Kripsy's coin is a reguler MS coin or they left off the SMS which NGC designates as SP.

My 94 Jeff is a SMS MS69FS.
Bill,
I guess that means I can't get 1,200 points ofr a $100 coin. I am much more proud of the 2001-P 67FS anyhow.

And Brian, odds are that you WILL pass me on the nickel set, because I'm "downgrading" my Jefferson from 66FS to this 66, non-FS:
As far as the PCGS Set Registry and the "elitist snob" quest for points & rankings on beloved plastic goes........
Well I have 4 or 5 PCGS Reg Sets that are pretty high in the rankings too.
<< <i>The 1994 & 97 SMS coins in MS-69FS are flukes. Someone has asked NGC to look at the scores on those coins in the Type sets because of that discrepancy. It takes usually 24 hours or less to get your coins approved for entry, barring holidays and weekends, although sometimes the NGC staff can be found working late.
