Pete Rose Registry Q..

I was looking at the Pete Rose basic player set in the registry and I noticed it doesn't include his 1987 cards. I have his 87 Donruss in a 10 (like this card, reminds me of his 1976 topps). He was player and manger at this time. Just wondering why 1987 is not part of basic set, it cuts off at 1986.

Pete was not a player in 87. The basic set is from his playing years, while the Master set includes his manager cards. The 87 Donruss lists him as 1B/MGR, but in reality he never played in 1987. He ended the 1986 season with 4256 hits.

Then why does the Mike Schmidt basic set include his 1990 Donruss and 90 Upper Deck cards, he didn't play in 90. The 1987 cards should be in the Rose basic set. The cards cover the 86 season, in which he played.
