1967 SMS Washington

I just saw in the latest "Velvet Tray" that DHRC is offering a 1967 SMS Washington quarter in PCGS MS 68 Cam for $850. This coin is listed in the PCGS price guide at $900.

It turns out I bought one a while back thinking it was going too cheaply. Looks like I got lucky even if the above prices are too high.

Are they too high? Is there any interest in mine?

I sold my last one around $225. $900 sounds way to high. I can imagine with the popularity of cam sms coins, the price would go up from the $225 (which was about a year ago, by the way) but not to $900.

I would say in the $300-$400 range.

  • I bought one for about $300 (which was a little more than I really felt comfortable paying for it), six months ago. If the market has tripled in six months, how nice!! But I really don't think it has.

Are all DHRC items priced like this one? I'd be a happy seller at $750, they are asking $850. It looks like I couldn't find a ready buyer (at least here image ) for much more than $300.

I guess their reasoning is that this is a low pop coin with only 13 in DCAM. I just checked the pop report and there are some new coins. There is now one in 69 and 27 in 68.

The last one that sold on Teletrade in Feb, sold at $230. This is where the market seems to be.
