You would think 6 months would be long enough!!!!!!!!!!

I purchased a Kennedy Half on 12-02-2002 for a Type Set I'm working on. I added the set tonight, 20th Century No Gold Circulation Strikes. It shows MY HALF DOLLAR is being used by someone else. image

Ok, I can understand forgetting a week or two, but 6 months? image

I emailed BJ. So you better watch out now!!!!

I think we can work a deal Russ.

I've got enough 2 cent dupes to finish your set nicely.

    Dam,

Nice set. I bet your a tough guy to beat in cards. Hold 'em, hold 'em, lay 'em down image Way to go and a super set image

It sure is a shame about the coin someone else has registered in their set. I might add >>> Looks like a new sheriff in town and gunning for 2nd place. Again.... Super set.

  • Great set!!
Always hate to get bumped out of the top twenty but the last two sets (yours and Jordan's) are great additions.

Bye the way, why is Cosmicdebris set listed as "NEW", its been around since I came on board?

  • Nice set! Congratulations.

Sometimes people enter the same coin in more than one set and then forget all about it. Bj will take care of you.

  • How do you overcome a situation like that, fax a copy of the copy with certification numbers to PCGS?

    Allen,

I wasn't sure myself. So I sent an email with a scan of the coin (showing the cert number) as proof of ownership. BJ then contacted someone at PCGS to request the owner of the set "my" coin is in to delete it.

It isn't the end of the world, but it would be nice if people would play by the rules. This isn't the first time this has happened. The first time to me though.

Thanks to Cosetta Robbin's image help in freeing up my Kennedy, that won't be necessary. It now resides comfortably in my Circ. Type Set. .image

For those who have the same problem, a cert number being used by someone else (when you own the coin), PCGS emails the person who has it listed and gives them 3 days to remove the coin from their set/s. After that you receive an email notifing you it's alright to list it. To speed up the process I suggest sending a pic of the coin, in the slab showing the cert number to prove ownership. They're going to ask for it anyway.

This has happened a couple times to me. I just send an email using the link to the setregistry folks. Never showed them I had the coin or anything like that. They cleared it up in a few days. Perhaps if the person who is still using the number balks, they will ask for additional proof.

  • Dan,

The two I just sold you have never been registered by me as I have never registered a set so if there is a problem it is pre-Bill. image

Wow! Just what I need. Now I have to hire to private investigator to search out who owned the coins pre-Bill. image

    Edited to add:

Know all ye collectors here, you have until I get back from Canada on June 16th to release the coins Bill sold me from your sets.
