PCGS MS69 1976-S SILVER KENNEDY HALF POP 1

GRANDAMGRANDAM Posts: 8,558 ✭✭✭✭✭
A friend of mine recently made a 1976-S Silver Kennedy Half Dollar in PCGS MS69,,,,, a Population 1 coin!!! His computer will not allow him to post on this board for some reason so he has asked me to post this thread for him.

He is willing to sell it if "the price is right" and he would like the opinion of some of the experts on this board. The question,,,,,,, what is this coin worth?????????

He also made a "HECK" of a score on the other coins he submitted in this batch. Check-out #3014407. This score makes me jealous and as some of you may remember I made a 1972-S Silver IKE in PCGS MS69 awhile back.

The owner of this submission is gandyjai ,,,,, he has the current #4 & #17 Circulation Strike Eisenhower Dollar Sets. I will be happy to pass on any opinions to him you provide.

Thanks, GrandAm

Unreal. I never suspected I'd see one made in MS69. It seems there is always a luster break or a tick or two that keeps it, at best, MS68. Very nice!

Wow! Bet he had to do a double take on those grades image Now if Mitch get this coin, I'll help petition BJ for a short set of the IKE Silver years. Sounds like a top pop set to me. I've got to say this and hope no one take offense, but sure seems like I have really seen some top pop coins since Montgomery let to NGC. I'm not saying it had anything to do with it, but I say give the grade where it's due. I recall DH saying they are trying to give the grades where due and I think we are now seeing just that.

Ken: The coin does sound neat. The submitter emailed me directly as soon as he got the results. Of course, I am always interested in 1965 to date MINT STATE PCGS coins and often pay dearly for them. Whatever the owner wants to do - auction or setting a flat price - my checkbook is out image

That's a great score on the Kennedy! The whole submission is terrific.

I have a few of the same coins in now, hoping for a 68 or two, never even dreamed about getting a 69!!

Give Blood (Red Bags) & Platelets (Yellow Bags)!

Okay, somebody has to ask it, what's this thing gonna go for? The Kennedy series does not bring $ like the IKE series, my guess is $4-5K.

I say $7,500.00 as the second one will not be forthcoming anytime soon and this one single Kennedy fits the needs of multiple Registries.
