Photo of a tarnished fishing lure in the wrong holder.

First please let me say what a durn great day I'm having! My family woke up in good moods. The weather is perfect. I've been able to post several photos to various threads. Ahhhh, this is the life image

I came across this coin while looking for older slabs I might send to NGC hoping for a star. I've posted scans of this coin last year, but they just don't capture the pastel nature of the lime green and sky blue. This photo is much better, though I'm sure many could improve on it.

I'm sure this doesn't need to be asked, but did you wash your hands after touching the "wrong holder"? image

Hey Carl that 39 is a perfect match for my 39D. Is it For Sale ? Basically I do not care if it is in the wrong slab. I like the coin. image Weather is nice here in Portland also but.....the weekend looks bleak.

If I had it my way, stupidity would be painful!
  • Thanks gang! No, its not for sale now. It doesn't really fit into my type set but I'm keeping a few colorful coins around anyway image

Carl you are turning into a Coin Hoarder. image Aw come on let the coin go if it does not fit the collection. Heck its only a Tarnished Fish catcher anyway. image

  • Nice try, Ken. I've always been a coin hoarder, so that name doesn't bother me image

And I've been working up a new set catagory. How does "the cool toned coin of no particular type set" sound?

Carl are you going to Lobby PCGS for that set ? I'll give up on trying to weasel the Merc from you but....imageimageimageimage if you ever decide to part with it just ring my bell first.......Pleeaassseee. image

    Ken
  • Ken, Why don't you sell me your Merc so I can have a matching pair?

I would sell you this coin, except I wouldn't want to charge you what it would cost to get it out of my hands! image I would buy your coin at a premium, but I do have my limits...

Can anyone figure out how to have an auction where to be eligible to bid you must offer a coin for sale? I mean if Ken wants my coin and I want his how can we establish a price? Perhaps some other of you have an awesome toned Merc and are willing to trade for one of ours? How can such an auction be structured? The rules should be fair... Every bidder must also be a willing seller... Too much for me now!!! I'm going to bed...

    Hey Ken and Carl,

How about you two go double or nothing? Pick someone you can both trust, and have him flip a coin to see who gets the matching pair? Would be even better if you two could meet at a show and do it in person! You could do rock, paper, sissors, or maybe just cut for high card. Let me know, I want to sell tickets!

Sell my toned Merc ? Ouch....known Toned coin hoarders just do not do this. image All we do is just try to pry other nice examples from other collectors hands......sound familiar. image It is frustrating though when the other collectors will not part with the nicely toned examples though.....one last try. Carl ?

Flipping coins, cutting cards or rock, paper, scissors leaves to much to chance. No Gambling here. image Now if we could play a round of Golf or a game of Cribbage, I would be up for that. image

I learned my lesson about selling Toned coins. Just look at Wayne's Icon.....still kicking myself for selling that coin. image
