How many unc bar cents has NGC graded?

What am i doing wrong - i can't seem to get that info from ngccoin.com.

Anyone have a recent ngc pop report and would like to help me out?

I think this means that Adrian has bought a new Bar Cent in unc. and is about to list it - which I am anxious to see.

While I can't answer the question he has asked, I can report that I've researched just about every old auction catalog of the last 50 years and know exactly how many different unc. Bar cents have been offered.

I won't reveal the number just yet (drama), but I will say that its not very many.

The better question is how many have original red color on them?

In my opinion the Kensington and Steinberg coins were without question uncs.

If my memory serves me correct, PCGS has certified one as MS-66 BN. It is the Eliasberg specimen I believe.

I know the previous owner, and subsequent purchaser, of this piece and I think it was purchase with the intention of submitting it to NGC.

Really a spectacular coin. Matter of fact I tried to buy it, only to find it had been sold to the new owner. Now NOT FOR SALE. image

Yes, the Eliasberg Bar was slabbed by PCGS as 66BN.

Not sure I understand how submitting it to NGC would increase its value whatever the grade, but there are lots of things I don't understand, including Cricket.

Not much to understand about Cricket. She is my cat. Fat and lazy.

Oh, wait, you mean the funny game played by "chaps"

    Me too.

    Singapore,

What I meant to say was "maybe they think it will grade MS-67 BN".

I understood that if someone were to resubmit the coin to NGC they would be doing so to try to upgrade it to 67 (heck - why not 68?), but I doubt that coin is worth more in a 68 holder or a 67 than it was in a 66.

So, while no one knows how many NGC has graded, it seems as though we all can only recall about two or three that are known?

Apologies for not answering the question, but ever since I was a little kid thumbing through the red book, I have wanted a bar cent.

I have about two minutes now so I'll make this quick -

Basically, I agree with Michael above. 7 - 12 legit uncs. out there, some impounded. Some current slabbed uncs. aren't

Bowers Eliasberg II Lot 3003 (now PCGS 66BN)
Bowers 1975 Kensington Sale Lot 228
    Stack's Steinberg Lot 165 (now PCGS 64)
    Bowers 1997 Rarities Lot 1079
    C4's 1995 John Griffee Sale Lot 510

There is a coin in a PCGS 61 holder is cleaned and is an odd green-gold color.

I have heard from a very reliable source that there are two other exceptional Bar's finer than Eliasberg with considerable cartwheel luster and at least some red.

    More later -

... or maybe it's because engeesee doesn't slab colonials.
