1880/79 VAM 6, "SPIKES" MORGAN SILVER $. TOP 100

This is a picture of an 1880/79, VAM 6 Morgan Silver Dollar. Many people will never get to see one in person. There were less than 10 known in uncirculated condition when the Top 100 book came out.

There are, however, several hundred known in the condition of the one pictured. (This is actually a blatent attempt on my part to post an off topic subject in the U.S. Coin Forum. For all my coin friends that don't make the dark journey to the Open Forum, I wanted to post the link to my pictorial SUGARLOAF PEAK. I just spent 4 days exploring Native American ruins and wanted to take some folks on the trip with me.) The coin and description are real, though.

Nice photo 2Dogs. And for those of you who haven't seen his Sugarloaf Peak link, it is well, well worth the time to view it. mdwoods

  • Thanks, guys. The Vam 6 is listed as a "heavy premium" variation in any grade. It pays to have your eyes open in coin shops. I paid 11 bucks for it.
