10th coin in the collection giveaway!!!!!!!!

Hello!!
Just purchased my tenth coin for the collection and figured that I would do a giveaway to celebrate. There will of course, be a tricky coin related question to tease your mind and enlighten your numismatic soul.
First of all I got all ten coins from the collection on one scan. The tenth was a very beautiful liberty nickel (Thanks Bill!). Enjoy the scan.
collection
Hopefully it wont crap out since geocities limits the bandwidth.
Secondly, the giveaway coin is attached. It is a raw Proof 68DCAM quarter. 1996-S. First person to answer the question correctly will win the coin.
Here is the question. It has to do with my dear alma mater, the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis Maryland and its link with coins.
OK, here goes. It is three parts and all three must be right. Wayne Herndon cannot answer this question as he already knows the answer. We have discussed it in some depth. Sorry Wayne! And no Wayne, you cant give anyone the answer either!
Part 1. What Naval Academy monument has a close tie to numismatic history?
Part 2. What is that tie? (Pls explain in two or three sentences)
Part 3. Why would a person who only loved original coins avoid coins related with this monument?
Enjoy and good luck. No need to PM. Write me for more guidance if needed and let the fun begin!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad you like the toned Liberty V OBV REV They are really hard to come by with nice color.
That's a nice touch with the giveaway too. I haven't a clue as to the answers though.
