How many dies do they go through in a given year?

Does the mint replace dies after so many coins are minted? Is the technology good enough today that we can't tell when two coins of the same date have been minted with different dies?

Yes, die life is around 750,000 for cents, 500,000 for dimes through dollars, and 300,000 for nickels.

No, but usually they only way to tell them apart is by polish lines, gouges, cracks, or other damage.
