PCGS missed the guarantee on 4 submissions at once

Well I guess I get some free grading on 41 coins. 15 Business days was the end of the day today. PCGS rcvd them on 4/25. I would think that at least one would have been able to make it through on time but, no, all 4 missed.

If there was a show with on-site grading during the period the submissions were in, those days will be added to the allowable guarantee period.

Russ is correct on this. I called PCGS, because they were three days past the dealine and they told me that the St louis on site grading voided the 15 day submission guarantee. Recieved on 4/22/03 Just posted results today 5/16/03

Yes, and they tell you this, supposedly in some small print somewhere. But, when a paying customer has goods in your shop to be processed, and has already paid, then it SUCKS to leave the shop for a few days because Joe Millionaire has some coins to be graded elsewhere. I say, let Joe send his coins and wait like everyone else. At least, until you become current with the mass of your customers.......Ken

You do realize that prior to April 1 (last month) there was no guarantee at all? It didn't matter if there were no shows, one just got their coins back when they got them back - and the "approximate" was 21 business days. It's now a guarantee of 15 business days. Thus, even when there is a show with on-site grading, the coins are still getting done faster than they were before.

Russ, you are right. But, IMO, it still sucks that you pay to have work done, and then have to wait longer while they go to a show to do others work ahead of yours. I say fine, go to the show, take their coins and money, and take them back to Newport Beach to wait in line like everyone else...........Ken

FYI, I called PCGS on Wednesday to inquire about a 15-day regular submission that arrived April 23 and was informed it was only the 13th business day due to show coin grading. My grades were posted today, the 15th day by PCGS' calculation. I would expect your grades would be up on Tuesday ... I share your pain on the wait, clackamas.
