Question about recent PCGS errors.

MadMarty, a member on these boards has got some errors in just this week alone. First he got a 1942 war nickel, type 2, and the holder had it labeled as a type 1!!! In the grade of MS66FS, there is a major price difference. How could you manage such a blatant error?!?!?!? Also, he just got grades on three 1970-S PROOF coins, and they were graded MS68, 68, and one 66. Is it just me, or is it coincidence that he got so many major errors in just 1 week?!?!?!? Is this error percentage represenative of all the coins you grade? If so, maybe you guys should consider someone verifying whether the coin is MS or PR and make sure major types are right BEFORE slabbing the coin. Thanks for your time.image

We're doing close to 90,000 coins a month now. We do have a grader verify every coin, and then we someone do a "mechanical check"...so were have a double check. However, even with the double check, some mistakes get out, People need to send the coins back or see us at a show and we'll correct the mistakes for free.
