Rescued a Slab Today!

I work with Basset Rescue, so why not start a Slab Rescue? I was browsing thru an antique shop today and the old gentleman had a large selection of coins, mostly circ silver........Barbers(he had some tagged as Barbra Dimes), Morgans, Peace $'s, and about 2000 different coins in 2x2s that were in these nifty little racks......I didn't even begin to go thru them, maybe when I have more time next week........he also had one shelf full of slabs, so I gave em a once over, mostly SEGS, PCI, and a few ACGs.....but stuck right in the middle of all that mess was an NGC slab. It's an 1884 Morgan.......Got lots of attributions on it......can anyone decipher them for me.........?
It says VAM 3, I know what that means, but on that line it says the following.....
1884 LGDOT VAM 3 S$1
TOP 100 AU53
I actually think its a little undergraded, but I have louped it yet. The LGDOT and the TOP 100 are whats throwing me? Any help? I JUST HAD to buy the poor thing, it looked so out of place among those other slabs, plus it only set me back $15, cause I bought a really nice hand engraved cedar chest from him. He was asking like $33 for it.

The TOP 100 refers to a book that identifies the 100 most popular VAM varieties Your 1884 VAM 3 is one of the varieties listed in that book.
The VAM 4 has a small dot and is the rarer of the 2. It's not on the Top 50 list which is the "Great" VAMs but being in the Top 100 makes it somewhat desirable but no huge prem. At $15 you did well!
