it is possible to grade coins for many things but not by 10 points for eye appeal

anyone that thinks the grading services can grade a mint state or proof coins for eye appeal by a 10 point system is going to be in for a long wait.
The 2 reasons i buy certified coins are 1. foremost, a gaurentee of authenticity [nothing is more important then this on a 3 figure or higher coin]
2. for an agreement with me on the grade so i have somewhat of a market for my coin if i have to sell.
Eye appeal is more subjective then the number of marks or the sharpness of strike, if this were not so, why do some people prefer blast white while others prefer ligh toning and still others prefer rainbow toning.
If the major grading services already can't agree what market grading -vs- ana grading standards should be can you imagine the confusion that would follow if they addopt eye appeal into the mix by the 10 point mint state or proof scale ?
maybe taking it to the step of adding a star designation like ngc would be doable, just to say a coin made the grade with a pq look to it and or had few marks for the grade, but there are so many variables to consider that it just doesn't need to go beyond that.
Something i've noticed seams to happen every time a new designation happens for a coin that was always the same, if the coin meets the standards of the new designation, it is suddenly worth more and if it doesn't it is suddenly worth less, why?? since the coin itself has not changed.
does anyone here need a dealer or a grading company tell them what a pretty colored or monster colored coin looks like? [my opionion only]- get the grading companies to get consistent all the time with what they're allready doing before you even think about asking them to take on something as subjective as eye appeal or color. The President claims he didn't lie about taxes for those earning less then $250,000 a year with public mandated health insurance yet his own justice department has said they will use the right of the government to tax when the states appeals go to court.

I'm glad to have third party grading to cover issues of authenticity, and grading, to a certain degree. I like having a plastic holder to protect the coin. But I'd prefer to decide for myself what is "attractive", and what isn't.
Answer: Perception VS Reality.
