An Interesting Quote From "AH-COLLECTIBLES" in One of His Ebay Auctions

<<<GOOD LUCK!!! AND PLEASE VISIT OUR OTHER AUCTIONS..........................For the lowest prices on NGC and ACG graded coins look no further than AH COLLECTIBLES.................. ACG COINS OFFER COMPARABLE GRADES TO PCGS & NGC COINS AT A MUCH BETTER PRICE...... Accugrade, Inc has never had a major complaint in 19 year in bussiness, can your grading service say that.>>>

I'm not sure I understand what he means.......is it supposed to mean they (ACG) grades coins comparably to PCGS and NGC, or that you can buy ACG coins with the same grade on the holder at a much better price??

Seems to me, he is saying "... that you can buy ACG coins with the same grade on the holder at a much better price," but isn't that the whole charade with ambiguity? You can read into it what sounds most appealing?

I take it he's stopped offering PCGS, or maybe, you can only get the "lowest" prices for the NGC and ACG coins, and pay full retail for PCGS.

Notice how all of AH-COLLECTIBLES high dollar auctions are "Private" Auctions.

    Private Auction
    Private Auction
    Private Auction
    Private Auction

It looks like he's trying to avoid bids from those users with IDs such as "This-auction-is-a-scam", "This-seller-is-a-cheat", or "Dont-trust-the-slab" (etc).
(EDIT: of course no body has ever said his auctions are scam, you get the merchanize being sold, but the history of ACG does seem to indicate you can't trust it's authentication on highly faked coins like a 1916-D dime or 1909-S VDB cent).

Of course it might also be so that people won't send messages to his' high priced bidders with messages like "seller is a sleazy weasel", or "seller grades his own coins", or other "watch-out" messages that get you dragged before the ANA Board.

  • If a customer doesn't show up at your door with a gun, then it ain't a major complaint.
That humanity at large will ever be able to dispense with artificial paradises seems unlikely. Most men and women lead lives at the worst so painful, and at the best so monotonous, poor, and limited, that the urge to escape, the longing to transcend themselves, if only for a few moments, is and always has been one of the principal appetites of the soul.
