    Lucy Type 1 has a small mint mark by monticello and Type 2 has big mint mark above monticello from same year.

    Pennies make dollars, and dollars make slabs!

    ....inflation must be kicking in again this dollar says spend by Dec. 31 2004!

    I sent a 1909-S-VDB to NCS for authentication, it was recolored, and they forgot to put the "VDB" on the slab! I was emphatic that it was a '09-S-VDB. How could one authenticate it unless it was the VDB??? Now I have to give it back to them at the next Long Beach show to fix their screw up.

    right, type one isnt a wartime 40% silver issue, which type 2 is with the large mint mark as found on all the war nickels...

    Maybe it's a new discovery? A mule with a Type 1 obverse and a Type 2 reverse?
