if the quality of the coin dealers in the rest of the world was like the ones who post on this site

We would all be better off. The number of friendly, helpful dealers who truely enjoy what they do and are helpful to all income levels of collecters on this site is amazing, maybe part of it is the web bringing us all together but i think also there are a large number of dealers here who love coins.

I have always enjoyed talking with them and exchanging stories with them and while there are some real cruds out there, there are alot of gems out there to.

To many to thank individually, so here is a blanket thank you for the pics, information, history, and sense of belonging that many dealers bring to this site. Not all dealers are bad, and alot of the ones i've done buisness with the last few years are great people [even if a few of them get kranky] lol

Mike, that is definitely the way I read it! image

Les, if I am allowed, I would like to thank YOU, on behalf of the dealers who post here. As I mentioned in a PM, it is often easier to bash than to praise here. And, you are right - it is, in large part, about enjoying what we do and our love for coins.

Hi Mike!, [guess again] but you better not put your guess here in case that kranky person figures it out. Les

Les, did you mean cranky "person" or cranky "woman"? image

See, I knew, that what started out as a thread praising dealers, would quickly turn into a flame thread. And, I'm the one to blame.image

    Mark,

I knew you would read it that way....you always see the best in thingsimage

Les, I too want to thank you since I have had the pleasure of working with you over the years. Mark is correct, when you love what you do it hopefully shines through in the effort you put forth. And...I'm glad I'm not the cranky one. Flames out for now.

  • I agree, I went to my first coin show several months ago and the only dealers that treated me with any respect happened to be members of this board and they treated me good before they even knew I was a member. Sometimes it sickens me the way dealers act

"sometimes it sickens me the way dealers act"

I agree except to add, the way some dealers act, i'm sure there are many collectors here who can gladly recommend the best dealers to do buisness with to avoid running into the bad ones.
