Thoughts on this proof barber...LINKIFIED

Does the price on this seem low, though it has another day to go yet. I was wondering if I should make a try at this for my type set.??? thoughts?

Before we have had coffee, we often believe that we have had coffee and are just waiting for the rising of the mental sun.

It looks cleaned to me and about XF40, net.

It doesn't even look like a proof to me.

Well first of all regardless of what the seller says Proof Barber Halves are not rare, it's not PQ or undergraded and a few small marks are not keeping it from 65, the severe slide marks on the face are. Even in the poor quality TeleTrade picture I can see it the dip residue on the obv & obv, and that's where the traces of gold come from, 1 sided cameos are not desirable, especially when the cam is on the rev and you won't see the price go much higher.
If I were going to spend that kind of money I would get something a little decent that wasn't hairlined up, dipped out, retoned and had some cameo to it.

I saw that one too but I was not impresssed. Small pictures always make me cautious of the coin too. If it is a great coin, then show it off. Often a seller will hide problems by using a small picture. Ag nice coin will get more money with a nice big picture.
