That R of LIBERTY sure looks a bit strange. It looks like a red X.

    Finally!
Cam40, are you talking about the vertical leg of the R being cut off a bit on the bottom?

Ok .I must be seeing something that isnt unusual.

It looks like a variation of normal font. Normally its more blocky I thought. Its hard to explain but its the P part or the R
The bottom loop slopes down towards the vertical line. I - /......
    No one see this?

I dont know. After louping a few rolls of cents ,the R on this one didnt look
like any other R in the few mixed rolls I searched.

look at a few yall have laying around and compare I guess.

I am sure there is a lot of undiscovered varieties out there, but when you find one nobody wants it until it was documented by someone else-------image----------------------BigE

    You uinderstand.

lol ,really IF iit is some variation of the dies but is yet realised or maybe recognized by anyone it probably
will eventually. If it has to do with die varities someone in that area is bound to notice something like this
    I would think.

How long did it take for the `BIE` variety to be recognized? Reminds me. I found a BIE Lincoln in a roll recently.

It's hard to tell from the scan, but I'd guess it's damage. Could also be
a small stuck through or die damage though. looks like the letter is
normal in outline but is missing metal at the bottom.
    Tempus fugit.

I pulled a 1991 cent out of my pocket to compare and on it the loop of the R comes around and then slopes down to the left to join the upright just like the one in your picture does. I've gone through a few others and it does look like there might have been some variations to the font of the R during the 90's but I can't be sure yet. I'll have to do some more checking.

    Thanks all for looking.
Yall all must think I,m nuts, but if I see something that looks half way unusual
I,ll usually make mention of it.

Maybe it is a variation of Liberty on the Cent but is not yet recognized as anything
or lest of which is not worth mentioning at this point in time?
