EXCITING news for pattern collectors

There will be a new issue of Judd! And, it will be reasonably priced. The information from the U.S. Patterns web site is here.

I think it will be really interesting to see how this update compares to Pollock.

Just checked the link (received the mail earlier today too). A definite buy, and certainly inexpensive at under $30.

    dbldie55:

I agree about the price. They are sure pricing the book right! If I were in charge, I'd figure pattern collectors were well-heeled and so I'd set the price at much more than $29.95.

I saw a proof of the cover (dustjacket?) this weekend at the TNA show. Very attractive although I only got a glance of the cover coin (perhaps one of the 1873 Patterns...the one without a seated figure). Nice to have this since the redbook will only be listing highlights and the Pollack book is a bit pricey even for a coin book.

I do not even collect patterns, but I would buy it just to have cool pictures of coins.

I expect that pattern coinage will be the latest series to show a whirlwind increse in price, and this book will only help matters-----------------BigE

Cool, I've always been interested in patterns. I think I'm going to get the book.

Front cover is a large picture of a Bickford $10 (J-1373). Back cover is obverse and reverse of each of the following: Schoolgirl Dollar (J-1608), Shield Earring Dollar (J-1702), J-1776 (Indian $20), Metric Double Eagle (J-1643) and J-11 (1792 Disme).

    Sounds great.
I look forward to the new edition.
