Have you ever paid danaged prices for a die crack

I paid $70.oo for a BU/AU 00S Barber quarter because the dealer thought it was a scratch. I won't be surpised if it came back from PCGS MS60 or better.

    About the only die crack I know of that really adds a lot of value to a coin is the 1807 Bust Half O-111 Bearded Goddess, has always been popular with collectors. That being said finding an O-111 without any die crack will make you a small fortune, go figure!! image

    I know there is a CC mm .20 coins thats kind of pricey without die cracks. I think it is the 1876 but it was awhile ago I read that.

    The 1861-O seated half die crack at the obverse nose while in confederate hands.
    That issue has to be the most interesting in American coinage with the mint changing hands so much all in that one year. Without the die crack its not that rare but so much history, its neat holding it wondering which Govt struck it.

    Do you have a picture of the 1861-O half dollar with that die crack? I've been looking for one for a little while.
