I just can't ever get tired of nice Lincolns

image
image

I'm hoping that these pics work now...

This will NOT be up on eBay with a ONE CENT start anytime soon...pics are really quick as I have to work on some other stuff tonight but I'll post better ones later if anyone wants to see. This is my personal favorite ever (at least through the end of this week) based purely on condition.

Anyone else want to share some great Lincoln pics?

    Rella,

    Man, that's a stunner.

Man, I dont know how I could narrow it down to one coin. Here's the latest addition to my brown set:

    image

For all those that like only red cents. This is the single finest wheat cent I've ever owned, the nicest of about 150 PCGS MS67RD's I've owned over the last two or three years.

While I'm waiting for some other posts, here's the nicest 35-S I've ever seen:

Great pictures, guys! Wow! Keep 'em coming!

LCM--really like that 1909-S color! Brown, my bu**!

    LCM,

Nice 42-S...looks like a sibling of mine but didn't tone down quite as much...two of the top four Lincolns I've had have been that date. I also agree about that BN on the 09-S...someone got robbed.

These are some great pictures of some great coins. May I ask some of you to tell me what setup you used to get the pics? Scanner, camera, etc.? My digital pictires have a dull look to them, and the coin looks more orange/yellow than copper. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

    Glenn,

Thanks...like I said it is my personal favorite conditionally (and that includes 2 of the 13 MS68RD 1919 Lincolns). But the 26 comes nice...LCM's 35-S with all that luster is also quite amazing considering what the average MS66RD of that date looks like.

    Mike,

I would tell you how I take pics but then I would have to kill you image (almost forgot to put the big smiley in there image ). Since it is hard to get good pictures of copper I consider my imaging skills to be part of my marketing package that helps me sell them; kind of a trade secret as it were. If you could look back at my old eBay auctions from nine months ago you could see how much I've learned. The value of the coins that I didn't sell or sold for too little and the value of all the times I ignored my wife while I tried to get the "perfect" picture are my tuition check so to speak and I don't feel like it is a smart thing to do to pass all that on for free. I don't blame you for asking though...I once asked ANACONDA for picture taking advice and he told me the make and model of his camera...and didn't say another word. image

    Hmmmm...maybe I should post a 1916 in 67...or a 1918 in 67...or a 1918-S in 65....or a 1919-D in 66....or a 22-D in 66...or a 24-D in 65....or a 25-D in 65...or a 26-D in 65...or a 28-S in 65...would that help your problem merz? imageimageimage I love being able to help buy, sell and take pictures of these things...I think that what I just listed runs more than I made last year. image

This is the single nicest toned cent I've ever owned. My wife has it in her collection at the moment:

We need more cent collector posts. I feel like I'm hogging the lime light, and I KNOW there are some guys out there that can blow my stuff away with awe-ism. Let's see some posts, guys/gals. Here's a non-cent, but cent related. Signature of Mr VDB himself:

I know what you mean LCM...there must be some high-powered Lincoln collector/dealer retreat that we weren't invited to. No extraneous stuff from me but will soon have that 46-P up that I didn't get a chance to show you at the TNA.

The 54 is now a victim of a $$$ partnership so no more stealing it from me and my stupid "I'll flip ANY coin if I can make $20" mentality. You know I sell all these coins to other dealers just to save me from myself. image So the price won't be quite as nice but I'm sure if you NEEDED the coin we could work out something favorable. 666...well I guess if I had a fortune cookie it might say "today is not a good day to submit upgrade shot Lincolns". image Anyhow this post should take care of that problem.

Gorgeous coins, I can't afford to collect them but I never get tired of looking at them. Two colorful SB Lincolns:

Thank you for the plug, Stewart. You must be feeling good coming out of jury duty. I'll bet you were too soft harted to find anyone guilty. One of these days perhaps Paul will be good enough to take some pix for me and post them, as he did for you. image

Gerry -- PM directions to your abode and I'll gladly be there at the next convenient time for both of us.

I'll pick up STEWart on the way if he promises to SToP posting in sporadic CApS like he's writing a ransom note image

    Gerry,

Offer to take Stewart out for a nice steak dinner; also allow him to choose the wine. Make an agreement with him beforehand that for every minute that passes between the opening of the bottle of wine and the first drink he owes you a dollar. One or two of these steak dinners and you'll have plenty of money to get that Coolpix4500 that you've always wanted...and no need for the fundraiser. image

As some of you know, I've been diligently working on a PCGS/NGC MS Brown lincoln set for about the last year. It posses a challenge because there are so few high end brown cents in holders. Most PCGS pops are below 5 in MS65BN:

    1909 NGC MS66BN
1909-VDB NGC MS66RD Place holder until I can "upgrade" to brown
    1909-S NGC MS65BN
    1909-S VDB PCGS MS65BN
1910 NGC MS66BN If you look at none of the others, look at this one!
    1910-S PCGS MS64BN 64RB IMHO
    1911-D PCGS MS65BN 64BN IMHO
1912 PCGS MS65BN Pop 1/0 in PCGS BN!
1914 NGC MS65BN Scratch above the date is on the holder.
    1914-S PCGS MS65BN
    1916 PCGS MS64BN
    1917 PCGS MS65BN
    1918 PCGS MS64RB 65BN IMHO
    1918-D NGC MS64BN
1919 PCGS MS64BN 65+BN IMHO, have sent it in to PCGS 3 times, body bagged first, 64BN'd second, Grade reveiw with no success, this coin blows away most of the PCGS 65BN's I own, but how many fees can you blow on a $20 coin based on principal???
    1919-S PCGS MS65BN
    1920 NGC MS64BN 65BN IMHO
    1920-S PCGS MS65BN
    1921-S PCGS MS64BN
    1922-D PCGS MS65BN
    1923 PCGS MS65BN
1926 NGC 65RD PQ, placeholder until I can "upgrade" to BN. The common dates are the hardest bn's to find... in PCGS or NGC.
    1928-D NGC MS64BN
    1929-D PCGS MS65BN
