Latest excuse to close an auction early

was watching an auction on Yahoo for a 1962 Jefferson Nickel. With around 2 minutes left, the bids started to get smaller, and then they were all gone so I bid (I was going to bid anyway). Right afterword I was notified I won. I then got the email from the seller.

<< <i>Hi , I was Canceling all bids on the auction , you must have place one exactly as I was closing It , I'm sorry but the coin has been badly damaged by my very young son . >>

What are the odds this happened right at closing time for the auction?
