When Heritage sends you a "free auction certificate" does that mean you got a good deal?

When does Heritage send you "Free Auction Certificates" (i.e. you are entitled to sell the coin through them with NO seller's fee)?

Is it when you buy a coin for less then they thought it would sell for?

I think they give you free auction certificate for each coin you buy from them over $500. At least that's been my experience with the coins I bought / won from them.

Nothing really comes free from Heritage. They are sharp marketeers and want every chance to get your coin back again so that they can get another 15% out of it next time it sells. It's better than nothing should you go elsewhere with the coin. If those "free" auction certificates are still with your paperwork after you pass-on, I'd imagine your heirs would be might tempted to go that route figuring they are getting one heck of a deal.

As someone mentioned, nothing is free!
