I bought it raw from a dealer at a show. What do you guys think? Would it get bodybagged at NGC or PCGS?

I think it's fake, but I also think it looks much better than most AT'd coins.

You forgot to put a "Who Cares?" option in the poll. image

AT or real, it's sorta purty.

I wonder about Warnicks- I just was given a Jefferson set that had been put together from circulation in the late 1950's, and I had to dip some gunk off a few of the War Nickels (which were AU-UNC coins). After a week or so, they popped out in iridescent colors, which were kind of pretty. Totally unintentional AT job on my part.

    LM,

The "I just want to see the results" option serves dual duty.

    hey russ

i liked the first one more because the color was less intense. i prefer softer, pastel tone over vibrant color. since i know nothing about AT/real short of an opinion, i'll pass on that. Jeffersons tone nicely, though, generally the rolled coins. in my toned collection there are several early 60's dates with good color and than a gap until 1982 where most of the coins are varying tones of gold. 1982-3, being roll coins as opposed to mint sets, are toned nicely again. then from 1984-date..........

what did NGC say about the first coin??

nice coins, both of them. are you in agreement with the assigned grades? the MS65 seems right but the MS64 seems a bit harsh. perhaps it's a matter of having the coin in hand to judge. what are learning about the series, russ?

Actually, I think the MS64 is overgraded by a point and should have been MS63 due to the scratch on the portrait.
