Ideas for weekly grading specials

Nobody has ever brought this up before(as far as I know of) and I've always wondered if it's ever
been considered by the powers of PSA.
Department stores seem to do pretty well with weekly sales and this is the closest of a comparison I can think of to put this idea to even though usually a weekly special at a store is not offering a service.
For PSA it could be possible that they could offer something like:
$5 this week only (whatever they choose:Year, star, common) post marked by such and such a date, minimum 25,50,100 or whatever they decide. They could make several variations weekly to satisfy everyone or a broader collector base to some degree.Be it hi book vintage cards $x, or 100 67 commons, modern bulk - this week only $5.
Perhaps that submission form and package you have waiting to go might have to make a few additions or subtractions but you will be able to get what you want and that's a $5 submission to suit your needs.
We all have come to the conclusion that every grading special has been unable to suit our needs and nobody can say here on the board that they don't have anywhere from a $125 to $1000 and up submission that is sitting around waiting for that special to suit their needs.
I'm not saying that a weekly special concept is the answer to PSA and it's collectors needs but it's a no brainer to not try to offer something more often to every type of PSA card collector either on a weekly,bi weekly and as present monthly basis. If they don't, they're saying no to money which is never good for any business.
Say there are 10 dealers sitting on $1000 worth of submissions each - 10K
Say there are 100 collectors sitting on $500 worth of submissions each - 50k
Maybe thats a small piece of change to the puzzle for a business but I don't know any business that wouldn't find a way to bring in $60,000 ASAP instead of saying - No we can only do it this way,or sorry we don't want your business for the next 6 months because we're making enough money now.Thats the way many folks receive the lack of flexibility as the rules prevent the cash flow and our cards we want to send at $5 a piece.
I'm not trying to mind anyone else's business but if anyone wouldn't mind - feel free to list what type of submission you're sitting on? Be it 25 cards at $125 or 200 at $1000 I'm curious to see the amount of money that is being passed on here by our grading company of choice we love till death do us part.
A $500 submission in progress of assembly by myself and for the right special saving $100 I could have it all set and postmarked by a deadline inside a week from today.Until that special comes along I'll just keep gathering the best 100 cards I can find before the paperwork is all set.
Just some ideas to a win win situation for PSA and it's collectors who want to psa $5.

JEB.
The powers that be are surely aware of the pent up demand for a cheap special.
They know the numbers generated by past specials, and will have one again when it behooves them.
All in good time ...

If the $5 specials are profitable, then PSA might just consider lowering their prices to $5 per card ALL THE TIME.
If the $5 specials are NOT profitable (or profitable enough), then don't hold your breath waiting for one.
My vote is on the second option.
Wabittwax - What you need to do is sell me the 74 commons that I need to upgrade my Reds set and I'll send them in - I'm just trying to look out for your financial interest.
Perhaps the $5 special is something forever buried in the past as well as submissions being minimum of 25 - 50 cards along with it.Only reason I threw this subject out there was over the fact that many expressed displeasure of the last few submission specials.
And for my own personal reason of hoping for the $5 submission deal is moreso over the fact that out of the amount of cards that could be sent which is 100 at $6 I am short of 50% even being worth sending in.As well what is worth it for my sets needs are only going to be 8s at best and saving $100 for sending in some bad cards would ease the pain of the loss.So I guess my search will continue on looking for better cards.Guess my little package in progress is going to be delayed alittle longer.
Well,it's great to see the views here folks.
Thanks!
