  • I don't like it. The toning is too mottled for me. Since you wouldn't post a coin with a low grade for comment, I'm guessing that this is MS67 or 68. Am I close?

If the coin was seen in person most likely I would like it. Right now the way the picture is enhanced its ugly. Grade wise it is almost impossible to tell because of the angle the coin was shot at. I suppose by now you have guessed I am not a fan of highly enhanced photos. The one thing I will say is the coin does have some color or the photo would not show up like it does.

What about this Mercury dime- is it a beauty, or do you think it's ugly?

Obviously that is just a bad scan of that 37. Please take another shot so the beauty of the coin may permeate this whole forum.

The slabbed 67 FB looks great, but then again I'm partial to beautifully toned coins, and to some not quite right because I think collecting Franklin halves falls under the heading of coin collecting- hey I collect matte proof Lincolns too. Now as far as the other coin someone posted with what looks like putty protecting the coin's delicate surfaces, let's see what it looks like after you fix it up with a putty knife.
