Looks like colors were put on the wrong spot. Should have covered up the mess on the face. But hey as many say on this board (and I don't agree with this theory) "if you like it that's all that matters."

"Lenin is certainly right. There is no subtler or more severe means of overturning the existing basis of society(destroy capitalism) than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose." John Marnard Keynes, The Economic Consequences of the Peace, 1920, page 235ff

If this was a Morgan I think that the responses might differ. You don't see this kind of toning of Peace $ very often which makes it a more critical observation. The only thing that bothers me about it is the definitive line that seperates blast from tone, especially towards the back of the head. Usually there is some calibrated change towards toning. -Aaron

I already have 2 complete Peace collections in 63 or better, so it's not for member of a collection.
Toned, AT or otherwise Peace dollars are few and far between as far as monster colors. This would just be something to have and to hold, something to look at.
Who knows, I might want a set just like that......
With all due respect, of course.....

With that dark of colors on the right obverse you would expect to find some "original skin" on the untoned section of the coin. There's really nothing that would explain toning like that on a Peace $. Very few sat in bags, and even less sat in bags long enough to produce true crescent toning. Cresecents of any type are rare on Peace $, double crescents even more so. Remember these might be silver $1, but they are not Morgans.
But the way is it a San Fran strike, the hair looks weak?

All in all, my opinion of that is so-so. Both positive and negative. Guess that balances out to a neutral.
Looks can be decieving though.Could be in a NGC 63 holder for all I know.
