Ouch! Over $100 for an SMS set!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Yeah, when I pulled the trigger and got the "your bid is too low message" saying the minimum was over $100 I thought sure Pepperdoodles was in on it. Looks like he's not the only one bidding stratospheric money on these.

  • Man I bought one of those from my local dealer for $10 a few weeks ago. I could'nt resist it was sealed in the original envelope with the mint's address label stuck over the flap and the postmark from that time. But as usual with my luck no cameos, but no haze either.image

Pennies make dollars, and dollars make slabs!

....inflation must be kicking in again this dollar says spend by Dec. 31 2004!

how in the heck do you e-mail the high bidder with a straight face. i think i'd probably pick up the shipping on that one for him.

  • baccaruda - they probably emailed the high bidder and asked him if he wanted a 2nd or 3rd set for the same bid price BUT WITHOUT shipping handling! image I would not be surprised if they also did a 2nd chance offer to the runner up...

Maybe it is a rare PROOF SET as I used to think only SMS sets were made in 1965. image

Von Zipper, Now cameos and no haze? At least from PCGS we get a finger print

    from time to time.
There once was a place called
    Camelotimage
  • I HATE FINGERPRINTS! I have recently submitted a bunch of coins, and pray they don't get damaged in PCGS' hands.image
