Collector's Club Submissions SUCK!!!!

Even though the info on the PCGS website states that you get four (4) free "regular" submissions, not economy, with your Collector's Club Membership.

Don't expect PCGS to process them as if they are regular submissions.

They are more likely to be processed at "their" discretion and do not apply to the time constraints that other "regular" submissions are guaranted by.

This is another fine example of how PCGS is losing ground on NGC as far as customer service.

Good job PCGS!!!

bummer, mine went thru in a timely manner and I got two pr68DCAM Frankies out of it... Oh yeah, I joined at the Long Beach show and they gave me 8 free submissions instead of four! PCGs rocks!

My 4 freebies went thru in like 3 weeks, course that was early in 2002

  • I've had great service with my member submissions. They are running behind now. I am sure they had a flood of submissions from St. Louis and through normal channels. It's probably also hard to hire quality graders. You don't want a rum, dum doing it.

I suspect that if NGC was getting the same number of submissions (and they may be for all I know) I suspect they might have similiar problems with backlog.

Well, NGC's turnaround times are better than those at PCGS. Have you discussed this problem with somone in Customer Service? Maybe they can give a little help.

No problems here either. That was a year or so ago though.

  • I actually did contact Customer Service and they said "sorry but free submissions are not regular submissions and they will try to get to them as soon as they can". Well I am at four business weeks right now and my coins went in two full weeks prior to St. Louis.

I have no problem with the free submission being handled differently than regular submissions but then don't tout the submissions as "regular" submissions in all of your PCGS Collector's Club literature and website.

    Great customer service.

  • I had no proublem in March 2003. 8 submissions - 3 weeks - 2 MS70's image

Butch, I had no problem either. I, like Lucy signed up at Long Beach and received 8 free submissions that took
about 3 weeks and I got 3 crossovers out of it. I think PCGS is way backed up right now. Try e-mailing BJ and
    give her the invoice number.

the gold club ain't worth the trouble. I can have my dealer submit and get a quick return for the same money as the gold club would cost. the NCG board member tell me the get much better servive with the white slab guy, but for me I like the clear ones thats why I use PCGS. they all seem to grade the same and I use to working with a PCGS dealer that treat me good. so I guess I stay with them for a while. well atlest until my next submition come back.

Was PCGS doing on-site grading at that show? If so, it negates the turnaround time guarantee for regular submissions so it would make perfect sense that it would be delayed.

Well Butch, if that is the case, then you have been treated poorly and you certainly have the right to complain. Nothing should be negated by a show. Companies that hold out guarantees should find ways, including overtime, to meet their deadlines. Anything less is nothing but poor, lame excuses.
  • Butch, watch that blood pressure! Looks like you got caught in a Catch-22 situation, not your fault. If it wasn't you who's unhappy, it would have to be someone else.

Reading this board, PCGS was (is still?) running late, and looking for ways to make some of it up - it has to come out of someone's hide.

Welcome to the pit! That's where we all are waiting for our grades. I'm not one to complain (yet) as my PCGS submissons aren't "overdue" yet........give me another week or so and I'll be there too. Its really a case of setting expectations and then not achieving those expectations. Will see where I am next week with my expectations.......may be joining the imageimage club also....hope not <grin>.

i just renewed and the cover letter that came along with my renewal package makes no mention of "regular submissions" or any other type for that matter. it states simply that i will receive COMPLIMENTARY GRADINGS based on your membership level. also added is that turnaround time is approximately 30 days.

now, don't go and accuse me of defending PCGS, being a homer or drinking Kool-aid, but why harp on this stuff?? sit still, take a deep breath and let them grade your coins. remember, the sun doesn't rise and shine to warm your butt!!!! whats the hurry anyway??

    Ken,

Since there was a show with on-site grading since your submission went in, it is not surprising that it isn't done yet. The preclusion is very clearly stated on both the submissions page and the show schedule page.

I have one in that hit a day earlier than yours (16th business day today), and I'm not sweating it.

  • Good Afternoon:

While complementary submissions are not guaranteed, it is our goal to process all Collectors Club complimentary submissions in a timely manner. When a Collectors Club submission is received it is coded in our system as a Regular submission, no distinction is made on the order differentiating whether it is a complimentary or paid submission.

  • Come on people don't ya think carol and bj have better things to do than worry about when your coins will be done. If everyone calls every day how are they gonna get some work done, might slow down the whole process. Your money is as good as gone, kiss it goodbye and wait your turn!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoops did I say that out LOUD? image

    VonZipper, Thank you,.....Ken
  • Well, I must confess...I did call today. I was concerned about my registered package and where it was. After going to three different U.S. Post Offices, I finally got someone who told me that my package was received and signed for, at PCGS on 5/7/03 at 7:44 AM PDT. I called customer service to inquire about how long it took to log packages into the system after they are received. A very nice lady named Sylvia(I think), took my info and when I just got home from my monthly coin club meeting 30 minutes ago...I had three email confirmations that all of my coins reached home base safe and sound. Thank you Sylvia(I hope that is right name).

P.S. That box was insured for $1600, which is a lot for this ole collector.image
